3/17/08 - Field fire, Center Twp. 850 block of Shermansvalley Rd. Engine, Tanker, Brush 8 responded. Fire started from a burn barrel.

3/9/08 - Auto Accident, Carroll Twp, at the intersection of Route 34 and 274. Rescue 8, Ambulance 89-2 and 129 responded. Units arrived on scene to find 2 vehicles with injuries and the roadway partially blocked.

3/3/08 - Auto Accident, Centre Twp, in the area of the 386 Keystone Way. Rescue and Ambulances 89-2, 109 and 79 were dispatched. Units arrived on scene to find three vehicles involved in an auto accident, on the roadway.

2/29/2008 - Auto Accident, Centre Twp in the 1400 block of Mannsville Rd. Rescue 8 and Ambulance 89-1 responded. Rescue 8 arrived on scene to find a vehicle on its roof in the creek. No patient was found on arrival and the box was placed available.

2/29/2008 - New Bloomfield Fire/EMS, Newport and Shermansdale Fire Companies were dispatched to 56 E. McClure Street for a house fire. Duncannon Fire Company was later dispatched to replace Newport's 2nd engine.. Chief 8 arrived on scene with smoke visible. Engine, Rescue and Tanker 8 responded. Engine 8 stopped short of the house and Tanker 8 laid 350 ft. of 5" supply line to a near-by pond and supplied Engine 8. Crews found a fire in the wall between the first and second floors. Truck 10 arrived on scene and took place at the front of the house from the east. Crews worked on scene to access the fire. As the fire burned in the wall, it melted the solder on a water line and the water line disconnected, extinguishing some of the fire prior to the arrival of the fire company. Ironically, this was the second fire that we have seen this happen with a water line in the house.

2/10/08 - Chimney fire, 500 block of Pleasant Valley Rd. Engine, Tanker, Rescue 8 and ambulance 89 responded. Personnel arrived on scene, cleaned out the stove and the chimney.

1/31/2008 - Utility 8 was dispatched to Centre Twp. in the area of the 8300 block of Spring Rd. for an accident. Ambulance 89 and Utility 8 responded to find 1 vehicle on its side in the middle of the roadway. At the request of PSP, fire personnel up righted the vehicle and removed it from the roadway.
1/29/2008 - With the arrival of unexpected freezing rain, Company 8 was dispatched for a vehicle accident in the 8100 block of Spring Rd. Utility 8 and Ambulance 89 responded. Upon arrival of Utility 8, Chief 8-4 closed Spring Rd. Throughout this morning, many Perry County fire companies responded to many auto accidents that morning. At the request of Perry County Communications, Utility 8 checked out the main roadways in the first due and checked on several other accidents. During this time, all County companies were dispatched to standby in their stations. Utility 8 returned to quarters around 9am. Around 10am, Chief 8-4 advised County of an injury accident in the 7900 block of Spring Rd. Ambulance 129 was dispatched in place of Ambulance 89 for patient care.
1/19/2008 - Today brought a steady evening for the fire company and ambulance. Rescue 8 and Ambulance 89-1 were alerted for a vehicle accident, vehicle into a pole. Rescue 8 arrived on scene and found a single vehicle off the road, into a tree. No patient found. Chief 8-4 placed EMS available prior to arriving on scene. Ambulance 89-1 were dispatched mutual aid to the Borough of Newport for a medical call. Approaching the borough returning from the call, Engine 8 was dispatched to Wheatfield Twp. to Zeigler Drive to assist Duncannon with a chimney fire. Engine 8 staged on Delville Road until being placed available. As Engine 8 was backing into the station, Ambulance 89-1 was dispatched the Borough of Newport for a second medical call.
1/18/08 - AED response to Centre Twp. 20th block of Tapeworm Rd. for a choking victim. Utility 8 responded with 18 personnel.
1/17/08 - Auto accident, Wheatfield Twp. in the area of Dark Hollow and New Bloomfield Roads. Rescue 8 and Ambulance 89-1 responded and placed in service by Chief 8-2 enroute. Later in the day, County dispatched for a second auto accident at Spring Rd. and Huckleberry Rd.

1/13/08 - Assist to Landisburg Fire Company - Dispatched at 1612 hrs, Engine, Rescue and Tanker 8 responded with 30 personnel, mutual aid to Landisburg for a working structure fire. Command 4 advised incoming units of a chimney fire with extension. Engine, Rescue and Tanker 8 responded. Landisburg was assisted on scene by Shermansdale, Newport and Newville Fire Companies. Duncannon transferred an engine to the 8 House.

1/12/08 - Auto accident - Dispatched at 1321 hrs for auto accident, vehicle into a pole with fire. Engine, Rescue and Tanker 8 responded with 23 personnel, as well as, Ambulances 89-1, 49 and 109-1 and paramedic 81. Chief 8-2 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle, into a pole, with no fire. Chief 8-2 encountered power lines on the vehicle and PPL was summoned ASAP. Ambulances 89 arrived on scene confirming 1 patient and requesting Life Lion. Engine 8 handled the landing zone. PPL had a rapid response and shut power down to the grid.

1/08/08 - 1st alarm structure fire - Chief 8-5 on scene requesting fire dept. for working structure fire. County dispatched the box at 1024 hrs and Engine, Rescue and Tanker 8 responded with 23 personnel. Assisting units on the scene were Newport, Shermansdale and Millerstown. Duncannon transferred an engine to the 8 house and later dispatched to the scene for over haul.

1/06/08 - Auto accident in Bloomfield Borough, 41 West Main Street. Rescue 8 responded with 23 personnel.
1/06/08 - Assist to Ickesburg Fire Company for a structure fire. Engine, Rescue and Tanker 8 responded with 22 members. Chief 3 placed the company in service while arriving on the scene.
1/05/08 - Automatic Fire Alarm at 236 Pine Grove Rd, Centre Twp. Engine, Rescue and Tanker 8 responded. Chief 8-1 placed the company available while arriving on scene.
12/31/07 - Auto accident - Rescue 8, 2 BLS units and 1 ALS unit were dispatched for an auto accident with an unconscious patient at 0649 hrs. Rescue 8 arrived on scene and called for Life Lion and Engine 8. Enroute, Engine 8 was assigned to assist with extrication and setting up the landing zone. Engine and Rescue 8 responded with 18 personnel. BLS units on scene were A29 and A129.

12/16/07 - 1st alarm structure fire - County dispatched for a 1st alarm structure fire to Center Twp, 1100 Block of Mannsville Road at 15:09 hrs. Engine, Rescue and Tanker 8 responded with 38 personnel. Units arrive on scene to find light smoke condition from the eves. 1 3/4 hand line was advanced to extinguish the kitchen fire. Primary search found 1 occupant in a basement bedroom unaware of the fire and escorted occupant to safety. Fire was contained to the kitchen, minimizing the damage to the remainder of the house to heat and smoke. Assisting on the scene were units from Newport, Ickesburg and Landisburg fire companies.

11/18/07 - 1st alarm structure fire - County dispatched a working structure fire at 0154 hrs. Engine, Rescue, Tanker and Utility 8 responded with 22 personnel. Chief 8 arrived on scene to find a new construction, single family dwelling with a working garage fire. A 2 1/2 inch attack line was advanced to the garage, while two 1 3/4 attack lines were advanced into the 2nd floor and attic of the house. Initial attack crews held the fire to the garage. Despite the prompt response and quick knock, the house was completely destroyed from smoke and heat damage. Assisting on the scene were units from Newport, Shermansdale and Landisburg fire companies. Duncannon transferred an engine to the 8 house.
